6 Hermès Bags Defining the Spring-Summer 2026 Season
On a warm autumn afternoon in Paris, Hermès made its return to La Garde Républicaine for the Spring-Summer 2026 Ready-to-Wear show. Artistic director Nadège Vanhee-Cybulski presented a collection that bridged the brand’s equestrian heritage with a fluid sense of seasonal transition and movement.

In the days before the show, Hermès hinted at the season’s mood with poetic phrases such as “Bright is the wind,” “Ride towards the sun,” and “Pacing the sand.” On the runway, those words came to life as models walked across a sand-covered floor, revealing a collection infused with sun-washed hues and effortless, dune-inspired elegance.

Relaxed tailoring met feminine cut-outs and fluid silhouettes, while meticulous leatherwork delivered the unmistakable Hermès refinement. Equestrian influences ran throughout—wrap skirts recalling saddle flaps, subtle quilting echoing saddle pads, and harness-inspired details—anchored by sleek, polished riding boots. The palette exuded quiet confidence, dominated by warm neutrals like caramel, khaki, beige, white, nude pink, and navy, accented with bold flashes of red to signal summer’s vibrancy.

Beyond its masterful leatherwork, silk took center stage. Hermès’ iconic scarves were reimagined throughout the collection—tied around handbags, cinched as belts, or casually draped over the shoulders. The bags continued the dialogue between heritage and innovation, with timeless pieces like the So Kelly appearing alongside modern creations such as the Birkin à l’envers, presented in sizes ranging from refined mini styles to relaxed, slouchy forms.
Here’s a closer look at the bags that embody Hermès’ vision for the
Spring-Summer 2026 collection
New Hobo Bag
First glimpsed in Hermès’ Spring-Summer 2026 preview videos and later revealed on the runway, the new curved hobo emerged as the standout bag of the season. Smaller than the Arçon but mirroring its signature lines, the design came in two sizes with a softer, more relaxed shape. Its handle flowed seamlessly from the body, complemented by an additional leather strap—evoking a horse’s girth—secured with a buckle at the top, offering the option to carry it by hand or over the shoulder.
The front closed with a leather tab and a lobster clasp that latched onto one of two metal rings—a nod to the Double Longe bag from the Fall-Winter 2025 collection. Shown in an elegant range of neutrals—gold, khaki, deep brown, and black—the new hobo was styled by hand on the runway, emphasizing its effortless sophistication.

So Kelly Hobo
The So Kelly is making a comeback! Originally created by Jean-Paul Gaultier for Hermès’ Fall/Winter 2008 collection, this effortlessly slouchy bucket bag with a hobo-inspired silhouette reemerged on the Spring-Summer 2026 runway in eye-catching violet, classic black, and lively poppy red.
In this updated version, the adjustable shoulder strap extends seamlessly from the bag’s body as a single piece of leather, replacing the traditional D-ring attachments. This subtle redesign introduces a clean side seam that adds structure and polish to the bag’s relaxed silhouette. Fastened with the signature Kelly touret and sangle closure, the So Kelly was styled both casually over the shoulder and carried by hand, exuding an effortless, contemporary elegance on the runway.

Horse-Bit Hobo
Completing the hobo lineup is a new design that marries relaxed ease with quiet sophistication. Spacious yet refined, it closes with a lobster clasp that attaches to a metal D-ring emerging from the interior—an elegant, equestrian-inspired detail that unites the bag’s two layers. Shown on the runway carried by hand with its adjustable shoulder strap, the piece debuted in two leather variations: a dual Togo-and-Swift calfskin blend in black and khaki, echoing the Arçon, and a heritage Box calfskin edition in black and deep chocolate brown.

Kelly Danse
Following the So Kelly, the Kelly Danse—another creation by Jean-Paul Gaultier—made a surprising return to the Spring-Summer 2026 runway in a striking violet hue. Worn around the waist and paired with a neutral-toned belt for a utilitarian edge, the Kelly Danse was last spotted on the runway during the second chapter of the Fall-Winter 2024 show in New York.

Kelly Multi-Pochette to Go
First introduced in the Men’s Summer 2024 collection, the Kelly Multi-Pochette to Go reappeared on the runway, styled as a clutch in what seemed to be Rouge H. Featuring a structured, boxy silhouette with three front pockets—each fastened with a signature Kelly buckle—the design also includes a long shoulder strap for crossbody wear, casually wrapped around the pochette for a relaxed, effortless finish.

Birkin Veau Doblis
Hermès embraced suede for Spring-Summer 2026—and in the most captivating way—as the Birkin in Veau Doblis made multiple appearances on the runway. Crafted from plush, velvety suede, these distinctive Birkin 30s added a rich, tactile dimension to the collection. Shown in two colorways, the black version was carried by hand, while another, in a Kraft-inspired hue, was effortlessly tucked under the model’s arm.

Birkin à l’envers
The Birkin à l’envers, first unveiled in Spring-Summer 2025, made its return in a sumptuous chocolate brown. Carried tucked under the model’s arm, this reinterpretation of the iconic silhouette turns the Birkin inside out—leaving the flap and sangles on the exterior, while exposing the signature touret closure from within.

Tablier Sellier
The Tablier Sellier, first introduced in Fall-Winter 2024, reappeared for Spring-Summer 2026 in its signature blend of refined leather and canvas. Retaining its gently curved silhouette and elongated top handles, the bag is fastened with the discreet Clou de Selle closure. Shown on the runway carried by hand, it was presented in a palette of understated neutral tones.

Derby Bag
First unveiled on the Spring-Summer 2025 runway, this Derby-inspired design returns for Spring-Summer 2026 in refreshed colorways. Drawing from Hermès’ historic 1926 Derby travel bag and infused with elements of the Plume, it features a tapered top, elongated horizontal silhouette, and signature horse-hoof-shaped gussets. Diamond-shaped reinforcements and sculpted pull tabs complete the look, with the bag showcased in petite sizes on the runway in vibrant red, mustard yellow, and classic black.

Besace Attelée
First introduced in the Fall-Winter 2025 collection, the Besace Attelée made a brief yet striking appearance on the Spring-Summer 2026 runway, styled as a belt bag. This sleek shoulder design features a clean flap front with a slim pocket beneath and an adjustable strap for versatile wear. Fastened with an equestrian-inspired clasp, it was shown in classic black accented with gold-tone hardware.

En Piste Clutch
Drawing inspiration from equestrian codes, the En Piste Clutch—first introduced in Hermès’ Fall-Winter 2024 collection—made its return to the runway. Petite and structured, its rounded shape recalls a stirrup, mirrored by the curved top handle. For Spring-Summer 2026, it was carried by hand rather than styled as a belt bag, highlighting its sculptural form. The clutch appeared in three colorways: classic black, a biscuit-toned neutral, and vivid red.

Balusoie
Expanding the silk offering beyond its iconic scarves, the Balusoie emerged as a sophisticated non-leather highlight on the runway. Reminiscent of the brand’s Bride-a-Brac Pouch, this version appeared in black silk adorned with a tropical botanical motif, complemented by a black Hunter cowhide handle.

H Canvas Hobo
It’s not unusual for Hermès’ men’s and women’s collections to intertwine, and one standout from the Men’s Summer 2026 lineup exemplified this seamless crossover. Crafted with an H canvas body and a structured black leather base that extends upward for added form, the design features refined details—a ring inspired by the Arçon, a hanging key clochette, and a Hermès padlock suspended from a slim leather tab threaded through the front to serve as its closure. Finished with a wide, comfortable single shoulder strap, the bag was carried by hand on the women’s runway.
